We coordinate and organise structured contact between the local community, voluntary and statutory sectors so as to maintain a local policy focus on the causes and consequences of drug use in Finglas and Cabra. This happens via an annual schedule of multi-sectoral meetings involving all relevant statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
We commission community based services and projects aimed at producing positive treatment, prevention and public health outcomes for those living in our catchment area who are affected by drug and alcohol use. These include low threshold psychosocial supports, recovery supports including key working, case management and drug free aftercare. We also commission group and individual support for families of drug and alcohol users including the Strengthening Families Programme. Prevention interventions with children and young people in school and those in contact with youth services. We organise an annual media advocacy campaign to reduce the harm associated with drug use. We also commission community development initiatives aimed at increasing community safety in the Finglas and Cabra areas.
